Five triathletes made the best times, in the different categories in the “most beautiful race in the world”. Now we present them.
The triathlete from Universidad Catolica, Jose Luis Gonzalez, broke the record of Ken Glah in the 40-44 years old serie. The Northamerican had a time of 4:24:57 in the year 2007; however, the Chilean had a mark of 4:24:12, setting his time on the top of the ranking.
Another of the athletes who improved his time was Juan Antonio Arrasate, thus broke the record of Julio Castro in more than 20 minutes, timming 5:10:24 in the 60-64 years old serie.
Gonzalez and Arrasate, join to the Argentinean Casabuno as the only ones with records in the different categories.
In the female competition, there were 3 records. Evelyn Muñoz (18-24) made a time of 5:08:42, and broke a record from the year 2005 belonged to the Argentinean Catalina Flaño.
In the 25-29, the Aussie Danae Sinclair with 5:10:16 dethroned the Argentinean Ana Delieutraz, who had another old record from the year 2007 when she made a record of 5:11:42. In the 55-59 serie, Patricia Facusse, with a time of 6:52:20, beats for more than 4 minutes the record that Aida Milinarsky had from the year 2007.
